We're looking for somebody to join us in London to help design and develop visualization software as a key part of our work in VALCRI - an international visual analytics project on Criminal Intelligence Analysis.
Police analysts are identifying structure in large numbers of complex records of crime-related data and building arguments that are informed by this information. We are designing techniques and tools that enable the analysts analysts to make sense of the data and deal with the uncertainties inherent in both the data themselves and the arguments that develop from them.
The position at the giCentre is full-time and for a period of 10 months from September 2017. The successful applicants will need to demonstrate:
- great data visualization design capability;
- a thirst for research - there is plenty of scope for impactful applied research as we develop software solutions.
We're a dynamic group based in a recently developed space and centred in an exciting part of London - on the edges of both TechCity in Shoreditch and the Knowledge Quarter around Kings Cross. We're a short ride from major stations and within sprinting distance of excellent coffee.
Please contact Jason Dykes (firstname.lastname@example.org) to chat about the post, the giCentre and the research environment in general. More details and links instructions for applicants are available through City's recruitment pages.
