Professional Liaison Unit

Transfer to Placement & Transfer to Internship

Undergraduate, One-year Placements

Students who have accepted a placement must inform the Professional Liaison Unit (PLU) as soon as possible. The most effective way of doing this is by sending an email to placements@soi.city.ac.uk

Students will be emailed a Transfer to Placement Form to complete and return. Before starting placement, students must attend a pre-placement briefing with a member of PLU. The requirements of the scheme will be explained at this meeting and the student will sign a Placements Arrangement Letter.

Undergraduate, Professional Pathway Placements

Students who have accepted a Professional Pathway placement must inform the Professional Liaison Unit (PLU) as soon as possible. The most effective way of doing this is by sending an email to placements@soi.city.ac.uk

Students will be emailed a Professional Pathway Application Form. Students must complete all sections and have the relevant parts signed by the PLU, Programmes Office and the employer. Once all of these sections have been signed, the form is passed to the PP Mode Tutor. Only when the PP Mode Tutor signs the form is the student considered to have joined the scheme.

The PLU will email the student a Transfer to Placement Form to complete and return. Once the student has been given permission to join the scheme – and before starting placement – he or she must attend a pre-placement briefing with a member of PLU. The requirements of the scheme will be explained at this meeting and the student will sign a Placements Arrangement Letter.

Postgraduate Internships

Students who have accepted a Postgraduate Internship must inform the Professional Liaison Unit (PLU) as soon as possible. The most effective way of doing this is by sending an email to internships@soi.city.ac.uk

Students will be emailed a Transfer to Internship Form to complete and return. Before starting internship, students must attend a pre-internship briefing with a member of PLU. The requirements of the scheme will be explained at this meeting and the student will sign an Internship Arrangement Letter.
